The following statistics are returned:

• totalSamples - the amount of samples in all storage layers
• totalGridLayers - the amount of grid (i.e. multi-dimensional) storage layers
• totalFilledBoxes - the amount of grid layers that are fully filled with samples
• totalBoxPositions - the total amount of positions in all grid layers
• totalFilledPositions - the total amount of grid positions that have samples in them
